Chiss Corsair (Chaf Envoy)
A hybrid specialized ship class developed by the Chiss, the Corsair classification is sort of an in-between class, fitting between corvettes/gunships and frigates. 200 meters long, and featuring 2 half hangers capable of housing small shuttles and a full squadron of fighters, the Chiss Corsair acts more like a miniature dreadnaught, fullfilling the role of a hunter killer ship, but with the speed of a gunship. Faster than an Nebulon B, the Corsair is armed with 2 maser type heavy laser cannons. Masers are almost twice as powerful as turbolasers, but with a slightly shorter range. These weapons excel at decimating the armor of frigate type vessels. The Corsair also feature 2 forward fixed heavy lasers for long range engagements and 4 dual light laser turrets for anti fighter and anti-ship defense. Fast moving, well shielded and heavily armored, the Corsair's only weakness is its lack of supporting long range weaponry, but then being able to launch a squadron of Clawcraft certainly makes up for this.
