MC102: Heavy Battle Carrier The Blue Diver. During the height of the Vong war, the Mon Calamarians allianced with the New Republic, forming trade partnerships with Kuat to develop new heavy command ships for facing the enemy. While the majority of the New Republic fleet centered around medium sized ships within the classes of frigates, cruisers and larger battleships, the Mon Calamarians still required the need for a large assault vessel capable of acting on its own for outter rim patrols and independent assault missions. Out of this Need, the MC102 was born. The first ship, the Blue Diver was the result of this need. 3 ships of the MC102 class were constructed towards the end of the war to route out Vong remnants while the main task forces reconquered the core worlds. The Blue Diver, Grey Haven and Red Abyss were tasked with patrolling and safe guarding the outlying sectors around Dac. The MC102 was a massive ship. Bridging the gap between battleship and star cruisers such as the Mediator and Corellian Strident, the MC102 was a task force unto itself. Featuring 9 large hanger bays, the ship carried an impressive complement of fighter, bomber and assault craft while allowing passive repair of fighters during the midst of battle. The MC102 features an effective arrangement of arsenal, featuring 3 heavy ion turrets and 8 dual heavy beam laser turrets and 4 triple barrel heavy long range turbolaser turrets positioned on the bow, with countless heavy turbolaser turrets along the flanks to obliterate anything that survives. Each of the 3 MC102 ships will be uniquely colorized and will be givin a Fleet Commander bonus. The ships have moderate armor, strong shielding and an expanded range of view. The drawback to the MC102 is since the ship carries so many fighters, it uses more populations points than other ships of its size class.
