Just a teaser while I work on completing the ship.
Rounded shaped models are some of the hardest to properly texture. I've been focusing on some of the hardest shaped ships first to texture to develop more proper techniques for developing texture styles.
Along with understanding proper UV methods and texture application, I have been trying to develop a unique texture style for each individual faction. The Mon Cals use a patchwork mosaic of armor plating, which lends to their artistic style of ship construction, durability and customization/conversion of star ships. The Imperials will use a very functional and precise armor plating, the Hutts a more rugged and worn thick armored, the Corellians a more composite/industrial style, the New Republic a more streamlined and finished appearance. The Ssi-Ruuvi use low-tech but rugged armor plating. They do not have he sophistication of ship design of other races, but their ships are strong wile also appearing alien appearance yet still using the same materials round within the galaxy as other races.
In short, the Ssi-Ruuvi are not pretty, they are rugged, crude and merciless, just as their style of fighting.
The Shree should be finished in the next few days. We thank you all for your patience while the team members finish exams, return from vacations and finish up other coding projects. We have new pictures on the way soon.
Please stay tuned...
