Proficient - Class Cruiser

Developed as the main line cruiser for the NR defense fleet, the Proficient was designed for spearheading stikes into the heart of enemy opposition. Fast and agile, the Proficient could deploy 2 squadrons of fighters and bombers to lay waste to enemy ships. The Proficient was armed with 3 heavy dual turbolaser turrets, 18 dual medium turbos, 11 dual medium long range turbos, 2 heavy beam lasers and an assortment of internally housed light turbos and ion weaponry. The proficient also featured flank mounted proton torpedo launchers as a special ability to broadside enemies and a tractor beam. The ship was fast, but relied mostly on its shielding for protection, lacking sufficient armor for a ship of its size.
