It´s been a while since the last Vong ship, so what do we have here this time?
You´re looking at the Uumufalh Gunship! This vessel was designed to escort bigger Vong starships and provide them protection against smaller targets. It´s a well outfitted ship for its corvette-frigate size, though lacking the heavy firepower of Ro´ik Chuun M´arhs. It´s also lacking the fighter complement and durability of its bigger brother - Suuv Ban D´Krid. On the other hand it´s cheaper and faster to produce while still being able to beat fighters, bombers, corvettes and maybe even frigates if needed.
You might notice the oval "mouth" and since it can´t be a hangar 2 questions might arise in your head... 1) What the hell is that?! and 2) Why did they put it there?!
Surprisingly both questions share the same answer: the Invasion Comics! I´ve followed design of a ship portrayed there (though I vongformized it heavily) which is where the oval mouth comes from. But you might also remember the monstrous Slave Ship which was also featuring a similiar "mouth". And now you´re getting it - it´s a miniature of Slave Ship´s Beam Weapon! Of course it will get significantly nerfed ;)
