Corona-Class Assault Frigate Part of the New Republic's modernization program of creating modular designed ships that serve multiple roles, the Corona was designed to fulfill escort and attack duties. Twin wing mounted shield generators provided excellent shields to compensate the weaker armor, along with powerful engines to provide a very fast attack speed. Dual fixed wing mounted heavy ion cannons provided a powerful punch to taking down capital ships while the varied array of medium turbos, rapid fire AA laser and light laser turret provided coverage from all types of enemy craft. The ship also featured advanced sensors for advanced line of sight and a hanger capable of holding 1 squadron of interceptor fighters.
